The three days of All Hallows’ Eve, All Hallows’ Day, and All Souls’ Day are collectively referred to as Allhallowtide and are a time for honoring the saints and praying for all recently departed souls.  The term hallow means “holy”  — you may recall reciting it in The Lord’s Prayer, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name” (Mt. 6:9).  (Catholicsknowtheanswerofficialpage)

Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.

Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.”1goodness1
